Use of Video in a Student Film
Hello Tony,
My name is Kona Blue, I'm a student filmmaker at San Francisco State. I'm currently editing my thesis film titled, "You, Me, and the City," which follows a young couple as they fall in love with both the city and each other. I'm collecting archival footage of SF from the 90's and early 2000's to use is a nostalgic montage as one character describes her experiences growing up in the city. I'd love your permission to use some clips from your film. Please contact me at kkalamia@
mail.sfsu.edu so we may discuss copyright info and such. Thank you so much!
Best,
Kona Blue

Nice video but...
I grew up in projects that makes HP look like a silly little joke. I have pinned on a Star and worked the neighborhood filmed in the video. What is missing is that the community needs to stand up for something and quit laying blame at everyone elses door. Where are the Fathers? Where are the Mothers? Why are you letting your children have no respect for anyone else let alone authority? If you don't think this is true take a walk on Fillmore any Saturday afternoon or ride any Muni bus that enters or exits any of these projects. One more things, the buildings that you live in and the views of the bay area are the best in the city. I could not afford to live in them (I make to much to live in Section 8 and to little to buy anything), but yet you trash your neighborhood on a daily basis. Think about that, the next time you perform a drive-by on one of your "enemies".

This short film really makes you think about life...
I've never experienced losing a best friend. Watching this really made me think about it. And the different kinds of neighbour-hood out there.
A great movie

Teaching to the next gen...
It's admiral that someone living within this atmosphere is willing to step forth and create a film to educate others.
Sometimes the youth have the wisest words of wisdom.
"For everyone growing up in a violent neighborhood, this is some advice you can take and run with.
Stay on your own hype, feel me? Know what you want to do in life.
DonÃÂt let anyone elseÃÂs negative hype, become your hype.
Life is a one time deal, take Advantage of it."

This movie tells how one community tackled this world-wide problem. Highly recommended as a "must see" movie.
